Carpet is still the first call for bedrooms, basements and stairs. It's warmer underfoot through an Iowa winter and it takes the edge off noise between floors. We carry Engineered Floors, The Dixie Group, Phenix and Mohawk in the Mapleton showroom, and our own crew measures the room, pads it right, and stretches it tight so it doesn't ripple loose. No subcontractors, just the people who quoted the job doing the install.

LVP is waterproof, which is why it's become the default for kitchens, mudrooms and finished basements where carpet or hardwood can't hold up. It wears well under kids and pets and cleans up with a mop. We stock Southwind XRP and other waterproof lines at the showroom for same-day pickup if you're ready to buy today.

Solid and engineered hardwood is the floor people keep the longest. We carry both through Southwind and Mohawk, and help you pick the right one for your subfloor and how much moisture the room sees, since hardwood that isn't acclimated or given the right expansion gaps can cup or gap later. Our crew handles delivery, acclimation and the finish work, not just the nailing.

Cash & carry materialsKitchens and mudrooms take the most punishment, spills, mud, dog bowls, so we point most people there toward LVP or tile, both fully waterproof. Bedrooms and basements are usually carpet, warmer under bare feet, and it holds up fine on a slab as long as the pad and subfloor are dry. Living rooms and dining rooms can go either way: hardwood if you want the long-term value, LVP if you want the same look without worrying about a wet boot or a dropped glass. None of it is a hard rule, just what tends to hold up best in that room, and we'll walk you through it with real samples at 102 Maple St or your own kitchen table.
